PResident's
award
Huntsville’s main
industry has been
tourism and George
Young has brought
events that help to
provide
opportunities to
local businesses to
sustain them during
the shoulder
seasons.

|
Tourism is not
isolated from the
fluctuations of the
global markets and
when the markets
drop, less money is
spent on corporate
and personal travel
types of tourism.
Huntsville has taken
control through
George’s leadership
to increase
additional tourism
dollars to flow by
encouraging local
sports, business and
cultural groups to
hold their events in
Huntsville.
Huntsville has
played host to
Ontario Paralympic
Winter
Championships,
Ironman 70.3, Pond
Hockey
Championships, and
the Ontario Winter
Games because of
George Young’s
support at council.
